Hernando County Sheriff's Office Narcotic Detectives concluded a three (3) month drug investigation by arresting five (5) subjects for various drug charges. Undercover Detectives purchased trafficking amounts (over 28 grams per purchase) of cocaine from EMILIO GONZALEZ-FUNES JR. and EDWARDO MARTINEZ at 7403 Buck Hope Rd, Brooksville. The investigation revealed that the organizers of the drug operation were EMILIO “PAPI” GONZALEZ-FUNES SR. and his brother, JUAN LINDO. Detectives learned that the drugs were being kept at 16302 Wiscon Rd, Brooksville and sold at 7403 Buck Hope Rd, Brooksville. On June 3, 2005, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office surveillance teams followed EMILIO “PAPI” GONZALEZ-FUNES SR, YUSMARI CRUZ and JUAN LINDO to Brooksville from Miami. The operation culminated when search warrants were served simultaneous at both residences. At 16302 Wiscon Road, Brooksville, Narcotic Detectives seized 262.6 grams of powder form cocaine with a street value of $15,700. Detectives estimate that the GONZALEZ-FUNES/LINDO drug operation was selling two (2) kilos of cocaine a month which equates to a street profit of $60,000.00. All subjects are facing a minimum- mandatory sentencing of three (3) years due to the amount of cocaine (greater than 28 grams).
